Just like any other Bethesda creation, Starfield is going to be a very big and long game. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to players. A less time-consuming game from Bethesda would have been a shocker, given that the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises both support games that never seem to finish. The exact map size and other important details aren’t out yet but Bethesda Game studios and Starfield director Todd Howard did mention the game to be “very big” and is designed keeping in mind the tradition of long-running games.
Starfield- Vague Details Reveal
Mr. Howard claimed Starfield to be a “very big” game and one that runs for a “long time”. When asked about what the players can expect from the new game’s cities, he replied that he doesn’t want to set crazy expectations for players. He backed this statement by saying that the cities are no different from how they were built previously. He provided more information on the game, quite vaguely, stating about locations that will be joyful and rewarding to explore, and having some different spins to pique the curiosity of the players.
He went on to say that the game is huge, referencing Skyrim. He said that just like Skyrim, Starfield will also be a big game and will take players a long time to complete. However, he asked players to not be worried as there will be different pathways for players who just want to play it, and skim through the game as well as for players who want to dive into every single detail of the game.
Unfortunately, there were no more insights about anything else. There are no total hours as for how long the map will be. Since Starfield is comparable to Skyrim, we’ll guess that it will take around
- 30-40 hours to mainline
- 100-110 hours to win against the side content
- 231 hours to complete the game properly
Starfield is expected to come out on November 11, 2021 on platforms such as Xbox Series XlS and PC.
