The wait is finally over for the OG Call of Duty Fans as the multiplayer of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War has been revealed yesterday.
This title is developed by Treyarch so the game engine isn’t the same as Modern Warfare 2019. The gunplay is more like the black ops titles. The studio is more renowned for its story and zombie modes than its multiplayer. The parkour isn’t as viable as the 2019 title and the gun sounds and mechanics are also downgraded. This title seems to not be as visually pleasing as modern warfare but the story mode cinematics does look promising.
Changes and New Content
The gameplay isn’t really something new but the maps and the new modes are looking promising.
The real talking point is the maps right now as the maps are looking really fun to play. The visuals of the maps aren’t as aesthetic as MW19s but still, they overall look good. The following are the maps that were revealed:
- Ural Mountains
The guns are nothing new but some classic snipers are returning
- KRIG6 (Galil)
- Type#21 (UZI)
- XM4 (M4A1)
- AK 47U
- Type 63
- Stoner LMG
- RPD LMG
- Pellington 703 sniper
- LW3 Tundra
Some scorestreaks from the previous titles are back:
- Artillery Fire
- Spy Plane
- War Machine
- Attack Heli
- Chopper Gunner
- Air Patrol
- Napalm Strike
As in, for now, there are only 9 perks but surely the final release will have more variety. Currently, we have:
- Tactical Mask
- Flak Jacket
- Cold Blooded
- Grant eight attachments for a primary weapon
- Carry up to six Perks
- Double the number of lethal and tactical equipment given on spawn
- Carry three Perks from any category, rather than be limited to one of each
The operators are really basic for now but we will surely get the in game operators. We can expect to get Hudson, Mason and other new faces that were seen in the story mode trailer.
What we can expect from the final product
Treyarch released the beta version to get the game’s first impressions so we can expect quite a bit of few changes. The Graphical downgrade didn’t seem like a good idea as Call of Duty fans loved the 2019 COD and Warzone because of its attention to detail and graphical upgrades from its predecessors.
Make sure to pre-order the game from official website.
