Everything surrounding this game is covered in mystery. First of all, Abandoned was thought to be a project Kojima was working on, given how similar the game was to Silent Hill P.T and how the developers, Blue Box studios, had little to no online presence. No one knew anything about them and only had a trailer on YouTube to speculate on. There was a release date for a Trailer app, which quite conveniently only Silent Hill P.T had, but it got delayed till August due to some last-minute bugs and localization problems.
You can watch the trailer right here:
Game Director Hasan Kahraman has come forward on Twitter explaining that he’s a real person and not Hideo Kojima behind a persona. This may come as sad news for those who were expecting to see a Silent Hill game, coupled with the fact that the trailer app won’t be available till August now.
Hassan says that all these speculations, conspiracies, and rumors have placed a lot of pressure on their team and the time taken to deal with these problems had caused the delay of the game. However, the director showed appreciation for all those who have been looking forward to Abandoned and offered his apologies for not meeting the release date.
Release date of Abandoned Trailer app
The app will come to PS5s in August and it’s possible the game will also come to PC in some time. The Blue Box team hopes to provide a good first impression of the game, which might be necessary for the game’s success considering how hyped everything is at the moment. Blue Box team also stated that they will not release the game unless their team is internally satisfied with the horror game’s final state.
About Blue Box studios
The studio is confirmed to be an indie one with no relation whatsoever with Hideo Kojima or even the Silent Hill games. All these rumors have definitely given their team a hard time and this delay might give them adequate time to polish everything up.
In other news, a Silent Hill creator is working on another horror game. Read about it here.
